Raised by a yoga teacher, Ashleigh Sergeant began her dedicated exploration of yoga at an early age, and is honored to be the youngest Certified Anusara® Yoga Instructor in the world. Throughout 2008, Ashleigh traveled with and assisted the Anusara staff on tour with John Friend, accruing hundreds of study hours, which empowered her exponential growth. Ashleigh has been designated the 2011-2012 Global Yoga Ambassador for Adidas, teaching the methodology of Anusara to sponsored instructors worldwide through the program pioneered by Elena Brower in 2010.
The early part of Ashleigh’s life was ruled by chronic back pain caused by a spine condition from birth. Having resigned to the idea that she would live every day in some kind of pain, she had nearly stopped trying to heal when she found the therapeutics practice of Anusara Yoga. Through precise bio-mechanical alignment and thoughtful awareness, Anusara Yoga empowered her to heal—completely. Ashleigh now lives free from pain, something doctors claimed to be impossible, and enjoys the gift of life through the lens of a healthy mind and body. Driven by infinite gratitude , Ashleigh has dedicated her life to sharing the method of Anusara Yoga. Ashleigh blends the ancient practice of Ayurveda, a science of longevity and illness prevention through diet and nutrition, into her teaching, and often specializes in therapeutic yoga with elite athletes. Ashleigh’s classes are fun yet powerful invitations to connect to your heart, your strength and your vision.
After many years in New York City, Ashleigh recently moved to Truckee. She is extremely excited to explore the beautiful mountains while sharing the teachings and practices that have impacted her life so deeply. Learn more about Ashleigh at www.ashleighsergeant.com
