Out of respect for your teachers and classmates, please observe the following:
- Make it a part of your practice to arrive five to ten minutes early, allowing enough time to sign in and set up your practice space.
- If you are taking class from a teacher who is new to you, arrive early to inform them of any injuries or conditions.
- Remove shoes and leave them in the shoe area before entering the practice space.
- Please observe basic hygiene when attending class.
- Because some people are highly sensitive, please avoid strongly scented perfumes, lotions and oils.
- Refrain from eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before you plan to take class. A light snack (fruit) is appropriate up to 30 minutes before class.
- Wear comfortable clothing. Layers are best as your body temperature may change throughout the practice.
- Make room for others. Everyone should feel welcome.
- Turn off all cell phones (or just leave them at home)!
- Yoga as a practice asks us to honor ourselves and any physical limitations we may have. Although your instructor will lead you through poses with verbal guidance and sometimes hands on adjustments, listening closely to your own body is required for a safe yoga experience.
- Only leave early if you must, but we prefer that you stay through the end of class to avoid disturbing others during Savasana (final relaxation). This allows everyone a few minutes of quiet time after practice.
