A Weekend of Healing, Restoring, and Releasing
Yoga Workshop with Joanne Varni
August 7-9, 2015
Through the practice of self-inquiry, renewal, and healing we touch upon the deeper aspect of the self, which is connected, centered, and whole.
Join Joanne for one or all of these sessions to learn, how through self-inquiry, we can restore, release, and relax our body using practical approaches that you can incorporate into your daily life or practice. Through discussion and self-exploration, we will become acquainted with restorative, gentle, and therapeutic techniques to release stress or tension that accumulate from every day experiences of life, difficult situations, immediate or prolonged stressful situations, or traumatic life experiences.
Heal, Rest and energize yourself with Restorative Yoga
Friday, August 7th, 5 – 7:00pm
In this evening practice, we will invite our bodies to transition into a true state of rest and relaxation (a different type of rest than sleep provides) as we utilize the power of restorative yoga as well as breath work, guided imagery and meditation that will leave you rested and energized for the weekend ahead. Bringing a journal is recommended.
Heal and Release through Core Release and Restore
Saturday, August 8th, 9– 11:30am
From the moment we are born, we begin to have experiences that our body remembers. Over a lifetime, these memories the body holds can directly impact not only our quality of life, but how also how the systems in the body react to those stored experiences. We have the ability to release old, stuck energy, tension, and patterns from those experiences allowing us to be more responsive, compassionate, and loving people to ourselves and others.
Be prepared to embark on new experience of releasing deep held tension through neurogenic tremoring, a therapeutic modality to bring the body back into balance. A gentle, yet dynamic yoga practice will prepare us for the tremoring and we will close with calming therapeutic postures specifically to calm the body.
Healing techniques for Stress and Anxiety
Saturday, August 8th, 3:000 – 5:30pm
In this afternoon practice, we will utilize specific restorative and gentle postures to reduce stress and anxiety. Through demonstration and practice you will leave understanding how to bring your energy up or minimize your energy exertion, as needed depending on how you feel. Bringing a journal is recommended.
Self-inquiry, Renewal and Healing
Sunday, August 9th, 9 – 11:30am
Through integration of mind-body-spirit we can use simple methods to help us deal with the day to day stresses of life or just feel more relaxed and peaceful. During this workshop we will incorporate what we’ve learned over the weekend so that we can take practical tools and ideas that can be easily integrated into our daily practice and most life styles.
