Writing from the Heart
with Chris Schulz and Delaine Fragnoli
Sunday, September 7th from 11am to 4pm
What Can Personal Writing Do For You?
Come and join Chris and Delaine as they lead you on an inner journey of “Writing From the Heart”. You will begin your writing/yoga retreat by going into some very gentle and personally selected grounding yoga poses that are designed to calm the body and mind. To begin your inward journey, Delaine, a certified yoga instructor, will assist you on this path of exploration. You will feel the body settle into deeply calming postures that will allow you to discover what poses sustain you and what that energy feels like in your body.
You will then have an opportunity to deepen your understanding of what it is that sustains you, by doing some personal writing, led by Chris, a certified writing instructor. Perhaps a new awareness of your own ability to self-sustain will arise through this practice of gentle yoga and writing.
Delaine will then lead you on a heart opening journey, by selecting poses that will move you into a more creative place. These poses will also be gentle and she will assist all students by using bolsters and blankets to hold poses that will soften your hearts and create a safe and protected space.
Our day will deepen as we learn writing skills to release old angers and wounds or write about what we deeply appreciate in our relationships and in our lives. Chris will teach five writing techniques that will offer a variety of choices that will help you discover your own personal writing style. She will then lead the group in a guided imagery that will help to access your imagination and meet your wisdom guides.
Our retreat will close with voluntary, personal sharing about the images and words you have discovered through your writing and self-awareness. The group will then move into some closing postures that will complete our retreat and offer balance and harmony.
No yoga or therapeutic writing experience is necessary.
Please bring water and a snack.
